The DigCompHub project was present at the workshop “Next steps on DigComp: Updates and discussion“, that took place during the All Digital Summit 2024, on the 17th of October 2024. This session was delivered by Judith Cosgrove, scientific officer at the Joint Research Center, and moderated by Stefano Kluzer, expert on DigComp and project partner of the DigCompHub.
Cosgrove confirmed that the Commission is now working to update the current version of DigComp 2.2, supported by expert advice, the analysis of scientific literature and, in the future, stakeholder consultation. The next version – DigComp 3.0 – is to be published by the end of 2025 and should introduce the following changes:
- Include learning objectives and learning outcomes for all 21 DigComp specific competences at the four macro proficiency levels
- Further incorporate recent and emerging trends and priorities of the digital world
- Be accompanied by information to support applications of the framework for a variety of purposes
