The next Inspiring Experiences webinar organized by the DigCompHub project is on the experience of Cruz Roja (the Spanish Red Cross) and Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG), in the design of DigCompLabor, a digital profile of labour market inclusion professionals. The webinar will take place on June 19th, 2024 from 14.00-15.00 CEST, and you can sign up for it at this link.
Cruz Roja and Fundación Secretariado Gitano are important NGOs in Spain catering to the multiple needs of disadvantaged people, including by providing labour market inclusion support. A few years ago, they joined forces with Fundación Accenture to carry out EmpleandoDigital+, an ESF-funded project completed in October 2023. Among other things, the project designed the DigCompLabor professional digital profile that describes the digital competences required today of those professionals who provide employment guidance and labour market inclusion services.
These professionals play a key role in connecting job seekers with job opportunities, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed in the world of work. In an environment where technology and digital platforms play an increasingly dominant role in job search and career development, these professionals must be equipped with a specific digital competence set. This requires understanding digital technologies and their impact on the labour market and the ability to guide beneficiaries in acquiring the digital skills needed to excel in their respective fields.
The adaptation of DigComp to the activities of employment guidance and labour market inclusion professionals is essential to ensure that these workers are properly trained and aligned with the demands of an ever-changing labour market. This adaptation will facilitate the accurate assessment and training of the digital competences of employment guidance counselors, job intermediaries, and employment workers in general. By aligning with European trends and models, this initiative aimed to strengthen the quality of labour market inclusion services, and contribute to the competitiveness and employability of citizens in an increasingly digitalised world.
In the webinar, Raúl Pérez from the International Department of Fundación Secretariado Gitano will illustrate:
- the services for the employment of vulnerable people by the Spanish Red Cross and FSG
- the overall steps and actors involved in the design process of the DigCompLabor
- the results of each step – list of the occupation’s main tasks and related digital activities; list of the digital competences and proficiency level required
- how DigCompLabor is/will be used by the two NGOs and by other interested stakeholders.
As usual, the webinar participants can ask questions and interact with the speakers at the end of the presentation.
